Our Summer School is ideal for those who would like to improve their English, combine lessons with exciting social activities, taste life in the UK, make new friends from all over the world and have a wonderful summer time experience. You are welcome to book for as many weeks as you would like during the summer months.
We welcome bookings for individuals and for groups. If you are a school or an agent and you want to bring a group please contact us to discuss your requirements.
All of our tutors are carefully selected for their suitability to work with young learners. Our class sizes are the smallest in Nottingham (with an average of 12 students in a class) and our students’ progress is monitored throughout the course.
Groups will be divided according to age and English level. There are 15 hours of English tuition (usually afternoons) and 15 hours of varied social and sporting activities and excursions (usually mornings and some whole days) per week.
The English level of our young learners is assessed before the start of the summer school through an adaptive online Placement Test (the Oxford Placement Test for Young Learners) which is sent to all our applicants during the booking stage. It is very important that all students complete the test before the course starts in order to be placed at the right level.
During the course, students will develop all four language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) alongside grammar, vocabulary, functions and pronunciation. Each week of the summer school programme focuses on a different topic and there is a fun topical mingling activity (group event or project) every Friday afternoon.
Please note that you will also need to purchase a textbook for use during the course, which costs £20.
This course is available during June, July and August and you can book for as many weeks as you would like.

Whichever option they choose, our young learners’ safety and well-being is our number one priority. Our team of staff and Homestay hosts will provide a safe and caring environment with different levels of supervision according to the age range of our students.
