Hello! My passage to English language training has come via 14 years in theatre and about 18 as a self-employed cabinet maker. And what do I think of my most recent profession? - It's hard work, but I love it!
I feel I have been so lucky to end up working at the Academy, where I have happily been since spring 2011. The diverse international make-up of our students generates a vibrant, stimulating environment - for me, it's a world tour without a ticket!
In the classroom I like a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, ideally one where students can learn without realising it, but where there is a productive balance of fun and diligence. I always try to be aware of the needs of individual students, whilst encouraging classes to take full advantage of the communicative benefits of learning as a group.
In my free time I enjoy classical choral singing, mountain walking, cycling, playing the piano (badly), occasional gardening and jam-making, and near-daily swimming, which keeps me fit, sane, and awake!
